TruVest is a community for adults to learn about markets, share investing experiences, explore African and global market information, and have respectful conversations.

These Community Guidelines apply to all posts, comments, profile information, portfolio-sharing activity, links, images, videos, messages, and other content shared through TruVest.

They work alongside our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Investment Information, Risk & No-Advice Disclosure.

Keep the Community Respectful

Treat other members with respect.

Do not post content that:

harasses, threatens, intimidates, humiliates, or bullies another person
uses hate speech or targets people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or another protected characteristic
contains abusive, obscene, violent, or sexually explicit material
impersonates another person, company, broker, financial professional, or TruVest representative; or
deliberately disrupts discussion or creates a hostile community environment.

Challenge ideas, not people.

Share Honestly

You may share your personal investing experience, learning journey, portfolio views, market research, and opinions. Be clear that your content reflects your own view.

Do not:

misrepresent your identity, qualifications, employer, affiliations, credentials, portfolio, holdings, or performance
manipulate screenshots, returns, dividends, rankings, or portfolio values
claim guaranteed returns, “risk-free” investments, insider information, or certainty about future prices
falsely state or imply that TruVest verifies, endorses, sponsors, or guarantees your content
create multiple accounts to mislead others, inflate popularity, or evade enforcement; or
use another person’s account, identity, portfolio, or information without permission.

Financial Content Requires Care

TruVest is a community and information platform—not a brokerage, trading venue, or investment-advice service.

You may share general opinions and educational discussion. However, you must not:

present your content as personalized financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice
tell another user that they should buy, sell, hold, or trade a specific investment based on their personal circumstances
guarantee investment outcomes or claim that users will profit by following you
solicit users to send money, securities, credentials, account access, or personal information
promote unregistered, fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful investment opportunities
coordinate, encourage, or participate in market manipulation, pump-and-dump schemes, insider trading, or other unlawful conduct; or
use TruVest to operate an unlicensed brokerage, advisory, portfolio-management, or investment-promotion activity.

Always encourage independent research. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal.

Disclose Conflicts of Interest

Be transparent when you have a financial interest in content you post.

You must clearly disclose, where relevant:

whether you own, recently bought, sold, or plan to trade an investment you discuss
whether you are paid, sponsored, affiliated, employed, compensated, or rewarded for mentioning a company, broker, investment, platform, product, or service
referral links, affiliate links, promotional codes, or other incentives; and
any material relationship that could reasonably affect how others interpret your post.

Place disclosures clearly in the post or immediately beside the related content. Do not hide them in hashtags, profile text, or unrelated comments.

Portfolio Sharing Rules

Portfolios are private by default. If you choose to share portfolio information, share responsibly.

Do not:

publish another person’s portfolio, account information, transaction details, or financial data without clear permission
use a shared portfolio to claim guaranteed results or expertise
misrepresent connected portfolio information as independently audited or verified by TruVest
pressure another user to make their portfolio public; or
use a public portfolio to solicit funds, clients, copy-trading arrangements, or private investment schemes.

Performance can be affected by timing, deposits, withdrawals, fees, taxes, exchange rates, corporate actions, and incomplete data. A public portfolio does not prove that another user should make the same investment.

Protect Privacy and Security

Respect everyone’s privacy.

Do not post or request:

passwords, brokerage credentials, payment-card details, bank details, account numbers, identity documents, or security codes
private contact details, location data, or personal information about another person without permission
confidential employer, client, broker, or business information
screenshots containing unredacted personal or financial details; or
content designed to steal information, spread malware, or direct users to unsafe links.

TruVest will never ask you to post or send your broker password.

No Scams, Spam, or Manipulation

Do not use TruVest to deceive, exploit, or pressure others.

This includes:

fake giveaways, investment clubs, signal groups, trading groups, or “guaranteed return” offers
phishing, fraud, pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, or impersonation
unsolicited promotion, repetitive posting, spam comments, or mass messaging
misleading links, malicious software, or attempts to move users to unverified payment channels
buying, selling, or trading accounts, followers, reactions, or engagement; and
using bots, scraping tools, or automation without TruVest’s written permission.

If someone asks you for money, broker access, a password, a verification code, or confidential information, report them immediately.

Respect Intellectual Property

Only post content that you created or have permission to use.

Do not upload or share copyrighted material, trademarks, images, videos, articles, research, or other content in a way that infringes another person’s rights. Attribute sources appropriately where required.

You may link to external educational content, including YouTube videos, but you must not imply that the creator, platform, or TruVest endorses you unless that is true.

Report Concerns

Use the in-app reporting tools to report content or conduct involving:

scams or fraud
impersonation
harassment or hate
misleading investment claims
privacy violations
copyright concerns
illegal activity; or
any breach of these Guidelines.

If there is an immediate risk of harm, contact local emergency services or the appropriate authority. TruVest is not an emergency-response service.

How TruVest Enforces These Guidelines

We may review reports and take action where content or conduct violates these Guidelines, our Terms of Use, applicable law, or the safety of the community.

Actions may include:

removing or limiting content
adding an informational label
restricting reach or feature access
issuing a warning
temporarily suspending an account; or
permanently removing an account.

We may act quickly where necessary to protect users or the Service. We are not required to monitor all content, and the presence of content on TruVest does not mean we endorse or verify it.

Appeals

If you believe we made an error in moderating your content or account, you may submit an appeal through email admin@truvesttech.com with:

your TruVest username
the content or decision you are appealing
the date of the decision; and
a short explanation of why you believe it should be reviewed.

We will review appeals in line with our internal procedures and applicable law.

Updates

We may update these Community Guidelines as TruVest evolves, legal requirements change, or new safety risks arise. We will post the updated version in the Service and provide additional notice where required.
